Health Literacy – Providing the Solid Facts: How to Build the European Evidence?

This pre-conference aimed to discuss how we can develop the European health literacy evidence to better inform policy and practice. Speakers provided insights on the European health literacy research landscape with a specific emphasis on new national health literacy surveys. Different methodologies were presented and discussed and the participants were invited to share their knowledge and reflections on how to strengthen the evidence base in the future.

The aim of Health Literacy Europe is to promote health literate systems and populations through networking. The HLS-EU Consortium founded the network as an outcome of the European Health Literacy Project. The focal point of the network is based at Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
